Experiences of Patients:

“Last year in early January I experienced a life changing event, heart by-pass surgery. After the surgery, as I went to say good bye to my surgeon, I was informed that we were not saying good bye because we were going to have a relationship over the course of my life. My cardiologist prescribed a set of medications that was referred to as “the heart patient’s cocktail” which I’d take for the rest of my life. Neither of these outcomes was acceptable to me, and that is why I began to seek a better path for recovery and for sustainable good health. Susan became the facilitator of that process. The process that she methodically took me through was not easy, as it examined not only the physical metabolic processes but also deeply rooted eating habits that were not healthy. I cannot say enough about the total transformation that I have experienced while engaged with her in life restoration.”

“I wanted to share my experience with the Intuitive Eating class I took from Susan a few months ago. I was told by the friend who referred her to me that it wasn’t always easy. In all there were 10 principles of intuitive eating that we were taught. The first ones were relatively easy and very informative. It got harder as I went along as I had to face some hard issues in me and in my life that were sabotaging my body. The class is not about losing weight; but weight loss can be a byproduct. I had to face why I ate certain foods consistently, how I felt when I was full, figuring out when I was satisfied and to try not go beyond that.  I was challenged to change my thoughts about food and how I viewed it.

I learned that I was an emotional eater. When I was stressed I ate, when bored I ate and so on. That was a reality check. I learned that I could eat anything I wanted to eat; nothing was off limits like with a diet. I also learned to accept my body the way it is at my natural body weight. It was not always easy, some of it got to the core of who I was, and it was hard to face.  Sometimes I wanted to run, but Susan was very encouraging and loving. I am now paying attention to my body and doing better making choices.”

“The in-depth care during the time I spent being counseled by Susan is hard to describe. She is knowledgeable yet able to impart her knowledge on a level that is understandable and usable. She is compassionate, personable, and patient, kind and thoughtful. Her process is easy to follow and remarkably revealing when I considered changes to be made. I highly recommend this process with Susan.”
